yesterday, as i was walking towards the parking lot from the doctor's office, i had a flashback (which i guess could only have been prompted by the jewish girl thread) of a peculiar memory i had completely buried

i had this (blonde-haired european, not burgundy-haired mediterranean) secular-but-culturally jewish english teacher in high school who was childless, divorced, in her early 40s, and supremely well kempt

everyone noticed the beauty behind her exhausted eyes and subtle age lines

one day near the end of 11th grade (i would have been 16), during my earliest course of the day (economixxx), she walks in and gives some brief message to the economics teacher, whose name (mr. barrel) approximately matches his shape

i barely notice because i'm barely awake, having pulled an all nighter to finish some random finals project

it's probably quite obvious that i'm struggling to remain conscious as i'm sitting at the front of the class

and as she makes her way towards the door (at this point my eyes are completely shut), all of a sudden i'm startled awake by this high-pressure kiss on the cheek

an unusually long one, at that

and i'm honestly too bewildered, surprised, and outright fatigued to know what to make of it

she would have had to bend pretty low to reach me, seated at one of those cramped classroom desks

the class, stunned as i am, makes some subtle gasps, and then as she exits the door, i get a few suggestive comments from students behind me that i'm too flustered to do anything more than shift awkwardly in reaction to and weakly chuckle away

it was such astonishingly strange behavior for a teacher that i can't help but wonder if she might have been slightly drunk

and to date, that remains one of the only displays of affection a woman has ever given me

I never once had lascivious thoughts about her (she was 2pure), but nonetheless, now I'm wondering if she might have triggered some epigenetic events in me.

i did see her many times after that as i was still her student, but that event literally never came up again

she was so motherly and caring and sweet

she personally went out of her way to help get me into my universities of choice

and looking back, i was so underappreciative of her great efforts[/spoiler]
