i bought some cheap chinese trash that i'd be embarrassed to link here

i have a proper pair of inexpensive sony headphones for general use already, what i actually ordered were ear buds (so i can complete the millennial walk look: http://boyah.net/forums/index.php/topic,68927.msg1544994.html#msg1544994) and the cheapest reasonable thing with an inline mic that could function as a basic """gaming""" headset (and for the purpose of gaming a headset doesn't really need to be extremely high quality, it just needs to work)

between the two i spent barely over $30
