"xbone" coming from someone like tec sounds perfectly normal
from you it sounds dirty :(
I've been calling it that consistently since it was announced. Maybe you never noticed because I don't talk about it often.

it just feels like the natural way to shorten the name

ps4, xbone, and wiiu

this is what xbone controller customization looks like: https://xboxdesignlab.xbox.com/

Here's a summary of the color options:
4 parts that can separately be colored any of 15 colors: front body, back, top/triggers, and dpad
thumbsticks have 8 color options
menu buttons have 4 options for white/black/grey (and grey with white letters)
face buttons have 5 options: one is the normal colored letters, the others match the menu buttons with greyscale

You can't choose custom colors for the face buttons and you can't use two different stick colors.

effectively that means 15^4*8*5*4=8.1 million total possible combinations

the controller costs $80 when customized

Also, I think you can get a name engraved for a little extra.

Around $100 for that I think.

don't let's

I always thought xbone came about from people making fun of it and that's why people went with that instead of xb1 or something.

it's $10 extra, not $100.

I think it started out as boner jokes, right?

And I'm assuming most people read it as x bone

Unless you meant the reverse here
pressing B then 1 means either stretching out your fingers uncomfortably or moving your hand across the keyboard
pressing B then typing "one" is faster and requires less hand movement

this is on qwerty of course

on mobile, it takes more time to long-press or to switch keyboards for the "1" than it does to type a letters-only word

Hmm, maybe that just depends more on hand size. Or somewhat.
