also, kind of a spoiler if i tell you why, but you should probably kill rom before you poke around the backside of the clinic too much, otherwise you risk aggroing a certain npc that you want to avoid killing until after rom is dead

is it her healing that's the problem? Or just her herself?

Attacking her head enough will stun her leaving her open for a visceral.
Otherwise, if you can find numbing mist, that will stop her healing.

oh. I mean, you could always summon if it really is frustrating you. Otherwise like I said, try to visceral. She definitely gave me trouble the first time too

well, the only fundamental difference between this and dark souls is that you need to dodge constantly because it's a faster game with faster enemies and you don't have a shield. and don't be afraid to dodge toward an enemy instead of away from it - often times it's safer plus you then get a chance to hit them

i don't really remember anything in particular i did with vicar amelia, so i must not have used any specific strategy other than my usual tactic of staying to the side/backsides of bosses

Kalahari Inkantation

what's your level, what weapon are you using, what is its level, how tall are you, how high can you jump

you should try to remain behind her at all times

i find that she's fairly easy to stagger with a fully charged strong attack of the hunter's axe (or probably any larger weapon) to the hind legs, given enough of an opening to pull it off

repeat that very same attack just as she's about to recover from being stunned and you'll trap her in a loop she'll have difficulty escaping

go for a visceral if you're feeling brave enough when she collapses and her head's pointing downward

once she's down to half her health, don't ever allow her to be more than half the room away from you or she'll use that opportunity to heal

you're not missing anything fundamental, you just need to refine your strategy lol

if you wish to defeat her alone but want practice, consider buying the bell and assisting/observing other players with her fight before taking her out in your own game

i'm like level 31, hunter's axe, +3

is the gun worth anything at all for enemies/bosses of her size?? when you guys say "visceral" you mean hitting her with a fully charged r2 attack and then r1 right? should i use the short form of the axe or the long form for this??

long form of axe if you want to actually stun her for a visceral.

yes the visceral attack is where you usually hit a fully charged r2 to stun them and then use r1 to do that move where you stick your hand in them and rip em apart essentially.

though you dont necessarily have to use the fully charged r2.

some bosses, when you hit them enough times, such as amelias butt (and head too i think), they will get stunned, and it will make the same sound as if you did hit them with a charged r2.

so you'll want to use the long form of the axe as it will cause more damage and stun her quicker.

and yes, try to stay behind her.

firearms are generally worthless in most boss arenas unless the boss is humanoid, so you're much better off two-handing that axe

the only exception in amelia's case is the flamesprayer as she's weak to fire, but your opportunities to use it against her would be limited and it does pretty pitiful damage at its base level

visceral attacks are those attacks that have their own special animation (during which you're invincible), fully charged r2 quickly followed by r1 only triggers an animation if the enemy can be backstabbed which isn't the case with amelia

her visceral is triggered when you r1 her head while she's collapsed (head down on knees/forearms, achieved after relentless strong attacking of the hind legs)

also, if you have an ample supply of fire paper, now wouldn't be a bad time to use it

Samus Aran

the gun can't stun most bosses of that size, no. you'll want to use behind-the-back charged r2s to stun instead to get viscerals

on the other hand, i do believe you can also stun amelia for a visceral opening by simply hitting her in the head enough. many bosses have similar weak points.
