Did you ever use the cane?

Samus Aran

i tried it out just to see its moveset but i never really used it in actual combat no

Hippopo

Shoot. I haven't seen anyone use it and it seems so fun

Kalahari Inkantation

i went chasing after one of the crystal lizard equivalents in nightmare frontier and then some asshole launched a boulder at me

died instantly

i fell right into that trap lol

Samus Aran

lmao almost everyone dies by boulder immediately upon first entering that area, myself included

did you get invaded by anyone yet? only in nightmare frontier and nightmare of mensis is that old mechanic still around. i got invaded several times in nightmare of mensis but never in the frontier

Kalahari Inkantation

i did fight off a pair of hunters in nightmare frontier but i thought they were npcs

the bell ringing woman was present, however

maybe they were actual players, in which case i'm quite proud to have successfully fended them both off at once nyandood;

Kalahari Inkantation

forbidden woods is way too big smithicide;

you would have known if they were. like souls games, you're told when someone is invading you and what their psn name is.

it's really honestly huge but so very little of it is necessary to traverse in order to get to the boss. there's a ton of items to pick up though and npcs to interact with so i guess that makes its size more forgivable

let me know how the boss of woods goes for you

Kalahari Inkantation

in that case then no, i've never been invaded

i did try to help fight off an invader while assisting in another player's game (i've already developed an insatiable appetite for insight), but he disconnected when he realized he was losing lol

oh, i've already searched every nook and cranny (or at least i think i did) because i desperately need upgrade materials and the other random loot has all been quite valuable lol

and there's a few useful shortcuts i would definitely have missed had i beelined for the boss

still, it was a huge pain that took hours, and while i think i've found the boss arena i didn't step into it because by then i'd accumulated nearly 15o,ooo souls "blood echoes" and didn't want to risk them all lol goowan

so i'll fight him tomorrow

Certainly. myface;

Samus Aran

it's kind of amusing you even tried to do nightmare frontier so early because it's definitely a mid/late-game area

i wouldn't even worry about it until after rom at the earliest. also, castle cainhurst is an easier optional area you can access once you have the summons that you get by accessing iosefka's clinic from the forbidden woods underground cave

Kalahari Inkantation

i realized i wasn't meant for nightmare frontier soon after being murdered by that boulder-hurling beast lol (((and being intimidated by the area's openness)))

and then i rerouted to forbidden woods (((which, lucky me, is even more open)))

and are you talking about the underground cave that takes you to yharnam just outside of iosefka's clinic, or is there another route i'm missing

no thats the one

Samus Aran

that is indeed the right path. i don't remember where the cainhurst summons is exactly, but i know you get to it via the rearside of the clinic. it might be on one of the rooftops.
