what is even the appeal of NiB for amiibos in particular

it's not like they have an enormous resale value worth the storage and risk
displaying and collecting figures is always better out-of-box and even the people who actually use them in games can't use them while sealed
the triple packs and game bundles in particular make keeping NiB amiibo collections even worse

for all my anime figures, I at least keep the box in my closet after removing the figure, but amiibo boxes go straight in the trash

I have yet to find the Mega Yarn Yoshi.
it's 60 online  saddood;
I bought mine for $32 giggle;

I had to drive quite a distance to reach the nearest Toys R Us right when they opened, and I managed to snag one of the last two after like 30 other people had already bought theirs. I also had a 20% Off Any Item coupon.
damn you I'm so jelly

every single one of you is personally responsible for this ghouldood;

each of the millions of dollars being foolishly spent on amiibo is another confirmation for nintendo that its """fans""" are perfectly comfortable with the idea of physical, day-one, on-disc dlc arbitrarily locked behind a $13 paywall that may or may not actually be available on store shelves at msrp due to the tried-and-true artificial scarcity tactic that nintendo loves to use to manufacture demand

any good nintendo fan could have predicted that this would inevitably be the outcome of the amiibo experiment and chosen not to support it, but alas, nintendo has no good fans left

just an army of nostalgia-drunk enablers

an ever-shrinking army, perhaps for the best

i dont own a single amiibo leave me outta this
