i mean my case has pretty large nobbie legs that you can't really see, so it's not like on the floor on the floor; there's like a half inch of clearance that if can vent out of. and it vents out the back too, but yeah temps haven't been alarming or anything ever lol

NOT GUTS BUT KINDA GUTS: i got a new 144 hz monitor today, playing overwatch at 140 fps is fucking weird

ikanaide

C.Mongler

yes! i guess! i just mean i've never experience moving pictures in a framerate higher than 60 fps tbh, so it's a new experience for me. so it is both very cool but very jarring because everything is ridiculously slick and smooth, whereas 6 months ago my shit would output at like 40 fps on average because of my old shit GPU (gtx 660ti)

ME##

i still maintain 48 fps is the optimal viewing experience for the human eye

C.Mongler

i maintain your eyes are broken and this monitor has made anything below 60 look like hot garbage. i played bloodborne on this thing yesterday and my god, the jagginess

also one of those 1 TB HDD died last week too lol so i now have a new 2 TB SSHD to replace it, neato

it ended up being a good thing i got such an enormous case, the fury is 12" long lol, i'm not sure it would have fit into the one i was originally eyeing

but even so, probably about 1/2 of this case will remain empty space, it's definitely too tall for my needs

final specs:

Quote from: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/CNyLPs
i5 6500
r9 fury
8gb 2400mhz memory (i intend to upgrade to 16gb Soon™)
240gb ssd + 1tb hdd
psu/mobo/case/disc drive etc.

total: $780

rudimentary benchmarx:

90th percentile happydood; happydood; happydood;
tfw i finally have a competent 1080p/60fps machine while the rest of the world is well on its way to adopting 4k and 1440p/144fps as base standards ~lmao~
also, it's amazing how quickly thick layers of dust can form on/in these things

Kalahari Inkantation

i envy your cpu

i should have gotten the 6600k smithicide;

also is that a water cooling unit i see
