i do like that they're acknowledging the existence of star fox 2, at the very least

though after seeing the helicopter i'm worried there might be too many vehicles, the last thing this franchise needs is another round of unfocused gameplay

in other news,

i mean really

are they serious

as if we needed any more evidence that this is being rushed for the holidays so that can say 'at least we have something'

In addition to that cover, we also recently got a release date: Nov 20.

Of course, true to this thread title, this game will be out long before we'll even get a release window for the next console Zelda.

Quote from: star fox zero directorWe decided to have two screens displaying 3D graphics at 60 frames per second. It was this and a few other factors, including it being the first time players will be using two screens like this on the Wii U, that led us to decide to base the graphical design on Lylat Wars.

'we decided to finally put the gamepad to use and have the wii u do precisely what it was designed to do for once....... but it turns out the system's actually too weak even for that oops lol, don't ask me how this pos made it out of product testing lmao'

confirmed: nintendo's hardware is literally too inadequate to support exactly the type of game it was purportedly designed for, and exactly the sorts of functions that were advertised as unique selling points

confirmed: nintendo is run by legitimate imbeciles and every single one of its hardware engineers needs to be gunpei yokoi'd stat

the entire wii u experiment has to be one of the most unfathomably idiotic things i've ever seen a company deliberately do to itself, in all honesty

i am in utter disbelief that they could honestly think this is a valid excuse for the garbage quality of this game

i'm thinking 7.5 tops on metashitdick, and that's an optimistic forecast

zelda's delay means they can (and probably will) delay this without breaking their promise of it being out before zelda

This actually surprised me. Didn't Star Fox have a fixed release date just announced like a couple weeks ago? I didn't think it seemed like the kind of game likely to get delayed.

So, with this and Persona, today has been apparently the day to delay 2015 games into 2016. What's next, Fallout? Xenoblade?

Quote from: miyamotoI made a big decision last week.

We have been developing Star Fox Zero for Wii U with the aim of releasing it this year. Although we felt that the development had been progressing well, we now believe that we will need a little more time to work on areas such as the unprecedented discovery that we want players to experience in the game by using two screens, and further polishing the level designs and perfecting the tone of the cut scenes. While we have already reached the stage where it would be technically possible to release the title in time for the year-end holiday season, we want to polish the game a bit more so that players will be able to more smoothly grasp the new style of play that we are proposing.

To the people looking forward to the launch of the game this holiday season, I am very sorry.

Star Fox Zero is going to bring new game play and experiences that take it far beyond the framework established by Star Fox 64. All the members of the development team are doing our best so that the final product will not betray your expectations. And the game will not be delayed for a very long time â€" we’re aiming to launch the game in Q1 2016. Please stay tuned for further announcements.

as relieved as i am to see him finally acknowledge that the product currently looks like rushed trash devoid of innovation, i seriously doubt they'll be able to make the experience substantially better with just four months of extra time

inb4 it gets delayed again and then eventually shifted to nx
