i like games with high skill caps and strong physics engines (n+, super meat boy, trails HD, spelunky, ssbm) but i also like rpg elements and strategy. overall i lean toward games that i can pick up and play for 20 minute increments but also sit down for hours. i also don't really care about story in video games

preferabely something on virtual console (normal Wii) or steam because those are easy to obtain
any ideas? i have a lot of free time and need something to fill the void that is my life  akudood;

Uhh... cave story? Castlevania adventure rebirth?
Do you have 360/ps3? I fully recommend dragons dogma

dark souls

agree w/this actually. its easy to play souls in small increments because plus obviously very challenging. maybe not increments as small as 20 minutes but still

no idea how well the pc port thats on steam compares to the ps3 or 360 version though

but only "bad" in the sense that it's exactly identical to the console versions and isn't designed to take advantage of potentially more advanced pc hardware

there's little else wrong with it if you don't mind playing at 720p/30fps using a controller exactly like console gamers

it actually is the type of game you could play in small increments thanks to the relative frequency of the bonfires, but definitely not as small as 20m

idk about dark souls. i should probably give it another chance because i think i should like it but idk...

this game looks cool:

no way dude
game mechanics of the future

i think they are great because if the game mechanics are good you can play them forever

Samus Aran

randomly generated levels are actually a really old and archaic dungeon-crawling mechanic so it's definitely not a "mechanic of the future" lol

I get that but in combination with modern game engines I stand by my point
