I mean, there have been some in the past not so long ago- but what makes this different from the other Ebola outbreaks was that it spread 10x faster than all of the other outbreaks.  Harder to quarantine because of how it spread.  And the strain of this Ebola virus is Zaire- it has a mortality rate of 90%, the most aggressive strain of Ebola.

Oh, and a fucking mob in Guinea ATTACKS an Ebola Treatment Center.

How fucking dumb this mob was. Holy shit. I'd be angry, too, but not enough to ignore that they're the same people who can contain it.

Technology and globalism go hand and hand. If you want to be on the forefront of technology then you gotta be global

Ebola is horrifying, but isn't really the right kind of virus to have a global pandemic. It's too noticeable, kills too many too fast, and isn't airborne. So at least we have that going for us.

A lot of issues come from misinformation or lack of information in terms of treatment too. Like I read about how people can go crazy over a needle which leads to the person trying to treat them being infected too.
