I think my first Celebi was from some event for HG/SS. I forget whether it was Gamestop or Wi-Fi, but it unlocked a special scene about Silver and Giovanni.

I would have transferred that Celebi to X/Y, but now that there's another Celebi available, I won't.

The hack check in poketransporter is so bad that people can, in gen5, generate pokemon whose locations are set to Kalos and then transport them and receive a blue pentagon.

but the apps aren't loose. On December 25 (JST), Japan got pokebank/poketransporter, but there was a worldwide Nintendo online services outage about half a day later because of new console owners flooding the system and then Nintendo left the pokebank servers turned off and postponed both the Japanese reopening and the release for other regions (which was originally scheduled for December 27)

Nintendo has not yet announced any dates for this reopening/release. There are rumors that they'll release it for Japan and Europe in a couple days then US about a week later, but there's no reputable source to that claim.

Also, because it's been postponed, as far as we know they could be making a patch that fixes some of the limitations of hack detection.

I don't know why I didn't notice it sooner, but considering how Nintendo's online services work, there really is absolutely no point in Pokémon Bank using the Internet.

Nintendo Network IDs are locked to a single console, making cloud ties no better in any way than local storage. The only method of transferring IDs, System Transfer, also transfers all local content. Pokémon don't take up much space when stored and should easily fit on any SD card's free space.

Pokémon Bank also doesn't have any other actual meaningful uses of cloud storage like social sharing/browsing.
