further proving dp right

Code Select
if ($object != "sony" && $object != "fifa"){
$object = "scary"
}

(x)((Gx â‹... ¬(Sx ∨ Fx)) ⊃ (Cx ∨ Ux))
Gx ≡ x is a game
Sx ≡ x is Sony
Fx ≡ x is fifa
Cx ≡ x is scary
Ux ≡ x is stupid

Is programming code the same as formal logic but with different symbols?

They're usually pretty different and many common programming statements can be pretty hard to represent in formal logic. Thyme's example actually doesn't deal with sets (or set-like programming constructs such as arrays), but rather treats "sony", "fifa", and "scary" as scalar values

There are "logical operators": usually && (and), || (or) and ! (not), which each return only 0 (false) or 1 (true), but even those don't entirely function like formal logic because the expressions they act upon may have side effects upon evaluation.

I guess I read time's sentence to mean "if an object is not sony and fifa, then its scary."  Am I translating it correctly?

And I don't know what you mean by "side effects."  Can you clarify for me?

My movie theatre does a full body cavity search on me every time I go. None of my friends say it's normal...
