A customer got frustrated and accused me of being dumb at work yesterday, just because I couldn't understand his incoherent ramblings about his computer monitor not working. He didn't understand that a computer and a monitor are two different components and that you need both to be able to have shit working properly. Apparently I'm the idiot.

What the fuck.

My family also doesn't seem to understand that a computer and its monitor are separate things. When trying to tell them to turn on the family computer after the house's power drops for a second, I often have to describe which power button (between the monitor's and chassis's) to press. They otherwise leave that computer on 24/7, so it's not a problem too often.

But at least, rather than using that misunderstanding to think of me as an idiot, they think of everything I do on the same level as magic.
