The second Skyward Sword trailer contains an interesting surprise, but it isn't obvious until the middle of this video (though you should watch the entire thing for reference):

AWESOME

Also, the terrifying 'music' that plays in the GameCube menu is quite a bit more interesting than it seems.  Not many of us are familiar with this intro:

but considering the GameCube's menu theme:

does it sound familiar?

[glow=black,2,300]It should, the songs are identical[/glow]:

The GameCube's is just slowed dramatically. goowan
holy shit that zelda's lullaby thing is awesome

and you know, i always liked the little tune that plays on the gamecube menu, it's really relaxing

okay, here's a music-related easter egg that you may already know about that's in quite a few games that a certain man has worked on...

have you ever maybe started up yoshi's story (the first game i found it in - although i later realized i had heard it years upon years earlier in mario paint too, which is what made me start searching for this online) and gone to the trial mode, and just let it sit there for a while, only to suddenly hear the music disappear and be replaced by a short little 8-bit tune of only 19 notes?

there's a guy named Kozumi Totaka, a composer who's worked on many Nintendo games including the Animal Crossing series, Mario Paint, Yoshi's Story, Luigi's Mansion, Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, and more. he hides the above little tune in many games he's worked on, and it's been identified in the following games thus far:

   Animal Forest
   Animal Crossing[a]
   Animal Crossing: City Folk[a]
Animal Crossing e-Reader cards (#P15, "Boy," "Who's Dunnit?")
   Animal Crossing: Wild World[a]
Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and the DX version
   Luigi's Mansion
   Mario Artist: Talent Studio
   Mario Paint
   Pikmin 2
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
   Virtual Boy Wario Land
   X
   X-Scape
   Yoshi's Story
   Yoshi Touch & Go

Before I watched any of the videos I knew what song that was. I know it form Mario Paint and Animal Crossing, but I didn't know it was in many of those other games. I like the Link's Awakening version.

Samus Aran

the link's awakening version is only in the japanese version

we have another nifty easter egg in our version though:

I remember starting a new file just for that.  It was also the file in which I beat the game with zero deaths and got the enhanced ending. :3

god i love link's awakening

Thyme

I like that the Link's Awakening ones start with that chime from Mario Paint's Gnat Attack minigame. giggle;

lol i never noticed that

mario paint in itself has so many nifty little things to it, like the dog that starts moving if you let your mouse idle for a while

maybe i'm a moron but i only very recently noticed that the first six notes of the melody of oot's title theme are a homage to the original zelda's flute jingle

Kalahari Inkantation

and much more recently in zelda musical easter eggs:

this is an extremely well disguised arrangement of oot's temple of time theme

set to 2x speed and start the video at 12s, you'll hear it much more clearly

of all the ones for you to not notice, it was the most obvious one that everyone knows? lol

Kalahari Inkantation

I know. :'(

i'm going to blame the fact that i didn't play the original zelda until years after i'd played oot, but that's a weak excuse lol
