what motion is it making?

It just turns 180 degrees and then bounces back in the reverse direction for me  >.<

if i just stare at it without focusing on anything i can get it to spin in either direction  hocuspocus;

It's definitely spinning a certain way in full circles, it is impossible to judge which direction, cause it can be either way.

Though it appears as though it is bouncing back and forth because the indent ends up looking like the front of the face as it comes around to view.

that's because it is a terrible example, requiring either some Buddha like zen or brain damage, to 'see' anything else. the other one is reasonable, as both illusions can be easily manipulated.

If you cover up everything but the foot and tell yourself it's going the other way you can make it happen. It's hard sometimes though

IS IT SUPPOSED TO SPIN THE OTHER WAY

for the lady one i can make it turn either way
it's hard for me to see it make a complete spin though, she just stops halfway and changes direction cry;
