well, if you want to be technical, it's more like, it should technically be boy-ah, but when you say it casually and quickly it'll generally sound more like "uh" than "ah"

that's how i've always thought of it, anyway

and ahhh real monsters is a terrible example because that's a long, drawn out scream, so of course it's pronounced that way

it's interesting to note that most words ending with "ah" that are pronounced as "uh" have conveniently been altered over time to drop the "h" in order to avoid confusion
