socks, you have truly proven yourself an idiot. well done

Daddy

Clearly socks thinks that a lengthy argument that means nothing in a replacement for a short, concise argument supported by facts. Because of this and how incredibly boring and mindnumbing his posts are I'm not going to bother reading them since his written arguments are to satisfying debate as the striptease trailers for a porno are to sex.

If his arguments were plotted on a Cartesian coordinate system you still wouldn't be able to find any of his points.

It really quite amazes me how someone can type so much yet be so incredibly boring and make absolutely no point at all. His teacher made a comment how his writing being too long winded and apparently Socks believed he knew better than someone with a degree in the field. The first step in making an argument is keeping your audiences attention.

I find the "no ad hominem" comment amusing as your seemingly computer generated essay is rife with logical fallacies (all the while not even using them to advance an argument); appeal to authority, tu quoque, ignoratio elenchi, and those were just found in a skim. I say seemingly computer generated because it's as if someone has written an algorithm to string together random verbs, nouns, and adjectives in a manner that is syntactically valid while remaining intellectually vacuous.

No, I did not read the entire post. I really doubt anyone can follow what just may very well be the manifesto of a person who had an epiphany while on speed. If you wish for me to actually read your posts it would be significantly more reasonable to remain in a window in which your diatribe retains a point that is identifiable and supported by a means that can be verified. Arguments of subjectivity are as frustrating as trying to commit suicide by stabbing yourself in the head with a month old banana; the point is never going to get through a person's head.

The very nature of your subjectivity is fallacious as you require someone to see on the same level as you which is, in itself, a subjective matter. You are calling for an objective view on a subjective goalpost. Throughout your post history you can find extreme contradictions of this "enlightened subjective universal truth" of subjectivity. By definition there is nothing universal about subjectivity, however you still blather on about these "universal truths" as if they were some objective standard that will remain the same for all while at the same time deriding objectivity. I seem to remember you replying to anyone complaining about being cold or a lightbulb dying, or missing school in a condescending manner which only severs to prove you are either a tool or do not fully believe your fantasy "subjectivity above all" world view as these issues are the very epitome of subjectivity. If one must remain subjective and it is all relative then why do you ridicule those who experience problems that are quite daunting in relation to their other issues. How can you describe people suffering from depression as "being a little sad" and being dumb for taking medication? Would the intensity of their sorrow not be what you have, in so many words (yet so little clarity), argued as being what science cannot measure? The ethic and subjectivity of human emotion?

Clearly if you wish to make an argument you should focus on consistency and making a point before going on to bore readers into the frustration of trying to see subjective bollocks in an objective matter

hotlikesauce.

God dammit. Now I have no idea what either of you are talking about.

You would make an amazing philosopher. You're amazing at writing words that mean absolutely nothing.

I'm gonna jump over the current argument mainly because it is completely impossible for me to read any of Socks' posts, and just reply to the original post.

Yea, pretty much any 'movement' with God or religion as its basis at this point in history is just pointless. That is all.

I thought this was going to be about that shitty surf reggae band that has seemed to captivate all the ladies of my area. This goes the same for the expendables. Shitty reggae.

Socks in that first post were you saying that because, for example, when a technological advancement rewrites some information that we believe in, we should assume that every thing we know is not a certain truth because with time there may be a breakthrough of information that accounts for information that we didn't know, and then we shouldn't believe this new information as truth and the practice never ends...?

If that's the case then I agree with JMV, what science has proven, I wish to stand behind as a firm belief, Until new information is available. I think to progress we need to build off the facts we already understand. I think understanding numbers is what makes us intellectual beings, and ignoring the language of numbers because we created them is stupid, we only created them to communicate the ideas behind the symbols.
It's like music, there is plenty of information out there about music theory and all that, and you could ignore it all and be a wonderful musician, or you could practice the theory behind it and be just as wonderful of a musician. Or like macs and pcs, you could go write your own os, or you could just support whats out there already and build off it. NAH MEAN
