I live in texas
but i live like 30 mins to an hour from mexico.

Yeah wouldn't you maybe have to stop like once and and switch planes? I don't know how that works because I've never been on a plane before.

Is it so they can get gas and stuff? Or because planes take one flight to somewhere and back. Then you go on another plane that does that same thing?

Yes, or since not all airports fly to every other airport, to connect to a plane going to your destination in another city. You would most likely be on a different plane if you were flying somewhere different, yeah
