The new DS Lites are weaker, but have a lot of advantages over the old one. Like, Touch SCreen improvements, better screen backlight, smaller size, easier to handle buttons(Mostly less noisy so you don't get caught).

An old Launch DS you can throw off a bridge and it'll survive.
