Writing for the frontpage: Do it, but do it right!

Obviously, the frontpage (http://boyah.net) needs lots of content. It's up to you Boyagers to provide the content; however, it doesn't get us anywhere if the content is shit. So here's a couple general guidelines.

1. Don't saturate the site with one kind of article. For instance, if you see that a bunch of music reviews have just been posted, think about writing something besides a music review.

2. Be unique. Don't stick to reviews and other simple/slightly boring things. Write a creative and humorous rant, write a short bit of satire, write some political commentary worth reading.

3. Use proper grammar at all times. Just do.

4. Make it interesting. I know there's only so much appeal you can fit into a review of an album no one cares about, but you could write it in an interesting way, or include mp3 samples, or something. Don't bore people with useless information unless that's the point of the article. Just try to write something that an average person would be interested in.

5. Use pictures, not everyone reads a wall of text just because, if they see pictures that interest them they might read the whole article.

Others can add to this.

Really, I think our goal here is to have an attractive blog thing with genuinely interesting content that we can eventually start to advertise and show people, and gain Boyagers in the process. Besides that, it's just fun to have a collection of Boyah opinion.
