do they make internal ones for the back of your computer? I'd like one with like 5+ usb ports on the back of my computer. And really, do people use firewire anymore? I'm going to get a media reader for my new computer so I can read all the different types of memory cards I have and all of them have firewire, is firewire supposed to be faster then USB or something? I assume they could have just made them USB.

Firewire is used a lot for video cameras. Transfer speeds of Firewire 800>USB by a long shot.

I just take out the memory stick and plug it in but my new camera uses something different. Saves precious battery life.

Everyone who has USB hubs here have external ones huh

Yeah, I'm sure you could find something like that that just goes into a PCI slot.

And yes people use FireWire... it's much faster than USB, and really there's no point in not using it for external drives and video cameras, among other things.

They had USB cables back then too, and nifty two-in-one cables, which I still have one of... however, iTunes no longer recognizes iPods connected via FireWire. poppy;
