Not so ugly and only costs $1000. I picked out a random laptop too, there are better ones out there for the price as well. I'm just showing you that the Dell you picked out is a piece of junk. $500 less then your Macbook, and it has more ram. Such the OS is the deciding factor for you or your Macfag friends but I'd go with the Gateway if I wanted a laptop, which I don't.

I have an AMD Opteron 170 Dual Core
2gb of RAM
250gb 7200RPM SATA HDD
Geforce 7600GS

And this rig only cost me $610 including a $60  AMD Athlon 64 that I don't even use anymore.

Am I supposed to pay $900 more for less?
