Even IE 5 for OS 9 is faster than Firefox for OS X.

That's pretty shameful when you consider this is not only IE, but IE being run under emulation. caterpie;

Your point being? Firefox is some kind of drug that causes users to stay attached to it. Every little thing about it makes you want to browse the web with it no matter what, regardless of speed. Whether it's the extensions, or themes, or just the fact that it has lots of support is why OS X Firefox users use it because most likely they were previously Windows users.
