Gamespot impressions says the Wii U version of Zelda was smoother holy fucking shit hahahahahaha

my body can't take any more of this shit it's golden

i don't believe this

this is way smoother (and slightly better looking) than the wii u demo was

The Switch version seems to have more detail (definitely textures, probably more) so it'd make sense if in certain situations it might drop more frames than the Wii U version, but it'd probably go both ways.

Both versions should be smoother this month than the demo at E3 was.

tbh these WiiU/Switch comparisons remind me way too much of PS4/Pro comparisons. Which is kind of weird, considering Switch is only marginally more powerful than WiiU while PS4 Pro is a much larger power jump and yet has similarly hard-to-notice improvements.

Imho if a game can run in 1080p and stable 30fps it's fine

yeah, well to gamers today, anything even one frame below 60 is "horrible framerate" and "unplayable."

Samus Aran

YPrrrr

If they could get the pair down to 70 it wouldn't seem that crazy since a D4 is 60 usually. But yeah when you get one half for $50 it seems like a huge ripoff especially since they're so small. Technology inside might be worth it idk but that's not the immediate perception people will have

And it doesn't look like that comes with the base thing too so that'd be even more money

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N33MFPK

I guess the charging grip which doesn't have a price listed yet

rdl

charge grip is like 40 last i saw

yo im majorly disappointed that it doesn't double as a tablet. i was hoping i could carry my switch around to edit documents, write emails and maybe edit an image or video and surf the web. if someone hacks an os onto one of these ill buy one for sure.

Nintendo's web site had all the accessory prices since right after the presentation.

The charging grip is $30. The non-charging grip doesn't seem to be sold separately.

Getting a second copy of all the accessories included with the Switch console without the console itself would cost $200 total:
$80 for Joy-Con pair (just one would be $50) (each includes a strap)
$90 for Dock (includes a charger and HDMI cable)
$30 for grip (but with charging feature added)

Other first-party accessories:
$70 Pro Controller
$30 for the AC adapter on its own
$15 for pair of two wheels
$8 for one replacement Joy-Con strap

Unlike the Joy-Cons bundled with the system, you can get a two-pack of Joy-Cons that are both red or both blue. The Red+Blue pack has colors/sides swapped when sold separately instead of bundled with the console.

There's only one AC adapter included with the system, which you'll probably want to keep connected to the dock. For on-the-go charging or to charge the Pro Controller you'll want to have another USB-C charger. Adding an SD card will probably also be necessary.

Tablets are currently a niche market. Most people nowadays just use their oversized phones or a laptop or convertible tablet/laptop. It looks like Switch won't even include a web browser, which helps Nintendo avoid the majority of exploit vectors people used for WiiU/3DS; they assume everybody probably has a smartphone already.

The fact that the pro controller is $70 is retarded.

All I want is a normal-ass controller

I hope they let you use the Wii U Pro Controller with all the games (like MK8 and Smash) that it makes sense for. Sony set a bad example here with not letting you use DS3 on PS4, but with everything using bluetooth there's no reason it shouldn't be compatible with games that don't need gyro.

Compared to the $50 Wii U Pro Controller, Switch's Pro Controller adds rumble, accelerometer, gyro, and NFC, and maybe a larger battery too. I'd say that's worth a higher price, but $10 would probably be more justified than $20.

rdl

i know it would just give me a reason to use it

i like the app idea, i could see sony stealing it. saves you from all the awkward typing plus no need for a headset. its cool. and you can manage your nintendo online presence on the go. its pretty cool.

uhhh sony has already stole it, there's an app for psn. the difference is it doesn't REQUIRE YOU TO FUCKING USE IT. if i had to pick up my phone to chat with my friends on nintendo i would just do it through the discord app, not their dumbass app
