Do you have trouble remembering?

What I mean is if you were to think back on some of your greatest memories, do certain memories instantly come to you, or do you have to sit and think for a while before the pieces kind of come back together and you can grasp a better mental image of that memory?  

I guess it depends on the memory. Some of my memories I can remember like video, and others are just kind of fuzzy pictures.

i can't even remember what i did yesterday without a lot of concentration (and even then, I can only recall minimal amounts)

Once I recall part of a memory, the rest of its details tend to arise almost instantly. If I struggle to remember something, usually I simply can't remember it in any time span without an outside reminder, hint, or trigger of some sort.

but with regard to what memories I can recall in any depth, I have very little capacity for remembering personal events; I have nearly no memory of my elementary or middle school years and even most of high school is already probably either forgotten or vague. On the other hand, I have a pretty good memory of other things like learned/academic concepts and locations/directions, often with little recollection of how and when I learned or became familiar with them.

Yea bluaki I'm actually really good with directions. I think it's a skill from remembering where I am in dungeons and stuff.

my childhood memory and things like that are fine, i've never really had a problem recovering details and such

it's really more short-term memory where i forget things easily...and depending on what it is, i can forget some things very easily

I have a very good memory of my childhood.  I can recall minor details, feelings, dialogues, and thoughts from since I was three.  I remember my four birthday perfectly from the time I woke up until the moment I blew out the candles.   

For my teens, not so much.  I really have very little memories from that point in my life...  Like whole pieces of it are missing (or maybe just belonging to the pit of despair also known as NSider).

I think I have a pretty good memory from my childhood. I think a lot of them could have been dreams though or some other way a false memory happens. who knows.
