What EXACTLY is a legendary?

I just want to know what we will offically count as a legendary Pokemon.

Some people thing it's every Pokemon that is one of a kind in a game. Some think that legendary trios don't count.

I consider all the high stat pokemon legendaries. Or I at least just don't count the lower stat-ed "one per save" pokemon  as legendaries. For example the trios have low base stat totals, and therefore aren't considered uber tier.

He has the 9th highest base stats of all the Pogeymanz. The same base stats as Kyogre, Groudon, and Regigigas.

Trios are legendaries, but they are allowed in XD GoD, so are Lati@s, so they're legends, but not Ubers. Ubers are different. This list even includes Wobbofet, yes, that annoying non-attacking blue blob. Shadow Tag+High Def./Sp. Def.+Mirror Coat/Counter+Leftovers=Long ass match and one bitch ass fucker.

Umbreon has Def and Sp. Def, but it won't last as long as Wobbofet. Blissey is a favorite among tanks, high ass HP and Def or Sp. Def (Depends on which you EV, HP is a must) but still not as great as that Wobbofet...

Trios, Ubers, etc, are all legendaries. Pokemon like Dragonite, Tyranitar, and others who are predecessors are also considered legendary.
