I'm putting together a little ditty involving Zechariah Chafee and first amendment theory and everything. Can't really stand the guy and his very black and white views.

But, I'm interested in trying to apply some of his theory to modern free speech examples.
There's the whole concept of "worthwhile" and "worthless" degrees of speech that warrant different levels of protection from the first amendment.

But, what are some examples of "worthless" speech or message? I automatically drift towards the baseless hate speech influences, but even Westboro's demonstrations should be protected under the first amendment, I think.
Can't have the good without the bad.

So, what actually constitutes something that should be "forbidden" or at least less deserving of constitution protection?
