I had an overbite, so I needed them to correct that.  My teeth were already pretty straight, so for a good majority of the time I just had the brackets but no wire.  It was strange.

And I'm like the only person I know who didn't get issued a retainer.

Yeah... Shit sucks... I can't even remember if I had them on the bottom or exclusively the top. I had retainers for both though... Ok yeah definitely had both, my bottom teeth were crowded and my top had an overbite
