Yep.

Things like this are just giving themselves too much credit. I'm sure making people unable to use facebook for a day is going to totally make them realise the troubles of their ways! Instead of facebook they'll just go to 4chan all day like a real person should  baddood;
I have always and will always despise "anonymous" and absolutely hate that my friends act like they are some kind of superheroes.
and this comment covers it fairly well

"They claim they want to take down Facebook to protect everyone's privacy.

What they mean (based only on every previous action of theirs) is they want to expose your data for the entire world to download and see."

Yeah, I'm not trying to say they're heroes or anything close to it, I just like that someone is taking the effort to stir things up a bit. Like Osama Bin Laden

Yeah, I didn't think you were I was just saying I have a few friends irl who seriously idolize them like they are some kind of group of superheroes saving the world every day.

I like people that take the effort to stir up things too, I just have a strong hatred for the group that goes by anonymous. I think most of their efforts are hypocritical in practice and often pointless.

say what you will about the tenets of jihad, at least it's an ethos
jihad doesn't actually mean a religious attack or whatever the popular idea of it is right now. it literally just means "struggle" and (I think) was originally thought of as a struggle within yourself against sin and evil.

"Traditionally Jihad was understood to be a military effort. In an offensive war it is an obligation on the Muslim community as a whole (fard kifaya), and in a defensive war it becomes a personal obligation (fard 'ayn) on every adult male Muslim. The war was primarily considered to be against unbelievers, those not of the Islamic faith."

Connotations matter too
