I don't say it in those exact words, but yeah if there's someone I want to talk to in one of my classes I say "Hi I'm Grant what's your name"
And college is so much easier to meet people than high school. I never introduced myself in high school.

Think of witty or interesting things to say related to the class so you have a common topic to talk about. Walk her to where she's going. If you're even the least bit attractive, she will let you accompany her. The most important thing to do is just talk to he god dammit. Who cares what it's about? It just matters that you are talking to her.
