TL;DR version: I turned on my patio lights and a power surge broke a bunch of shit!
I'm still a n00b when it comes to power, and I know what if you use too much electricity at one time, it causes a surge, and I know that the electrical in my house is fucked up. I had a bunch of lights on in the house, my Macbook and it's hard drives, my monitor, a cheap printer on, on my desk. I went outside and turned on the patio lights, and fuck'in... I heard my 4.1 speaker system bow out, my Macbook was off, and it smelled like smoke, oh fuck.
After figuring shit out, there was like an explosion in my cooling dock that has a USB hub, and that fucked so much stuff up. Here is a list of things that no longer work!

 • My 750GB La Cie External USB hard drive (It spins up, but my HP don't see the device, I think the HDD is okay)

 • My cooling dock (It smells like smoke when I try to power it)

 • My little HP Desk Jet (It turns on, but, the USB cable is electrified. It kept shocking me and when I hooked it to a volt meter, the volt meter when crazy.

 • My Moniter won't work on DVI mode, but it would be my Macbook's video card

 • My light up USB cable

 • My Macbook's USB ports WON'T WORK (On boot, it says "it is using too much power and has been shut off" with nothing plugged into it. System Profiler says the USB is there, and the keyboard, trackpad, and iSight work fine.

 • For some reason, it's saying random shit is spelled wrong

 • And I hear sometimes a watch beeping, witch is very creepy

I'm scared that something else would happen like my other hard drive die and I won't be able to recover them. I don't know what to do at this point, I'm fucking scared of power. Everything else is working except those things.
Maybe if you weren't such a slut this wouldn't have happened, just saying

Some words are better than no words, I guess.

Surge protectors are useful for that situation.

I am sorry for your loss though  :( that sounds pretty sucky. I hope you get the stuff to work and it doesn't do any permanent damage

The only thing what was not on a surge protector was the printer. Maybe the surge went from the printer to the dock to my USB ports. Fuck, I need to see if my warranty is still on.
Update: This is going to be like my 3rd motherboard

Daddy

Well, Moniter isn't a word and that is why that is underlined.
