You should tell him to be sure he's not horribly homophobic, which would obviously be an inconvenience in the future and harder to remedy midway through the semester

I think it would be best to let them know, however it really isn't any of their business if I look at in your shoes. You never know what kind of person they could be though, I think in the end it will come down to what you feel is it right and what makes you feel the most comfortable.

Yeah I'll do an evaluation on their personality, or such. Maybe I will, maybe I won't...
I don't think its their business, but i'd like to be a good roommate instead of a horror story.

Well it's good that you're considerate. If you feel you should tell him then do it.

I'm sorry my last post was blunt. It's just my two roommates my first year of college sort of killed all my desire to be considerate to people I don't know personally yet.

They were both awful, awful people.

Don't say unless they enquire about it or point out some hot chick, then make it seem like it's obvious if they're surprised by it.

I've got a few gay friends, and I don't mind staying at their houses when I'm in their towns etc, in fact I didn't know one of them was gay for a few years, some people might be offended for not saying right away though, but, unlikely so because if they're logical at all, it's none of their business. Unless you're flirting with them that is.

This is probably what i'll be doing. I have time to think about it. Yeah I don't flirt with straight guys. Actually I don't flirt with anyone. That is nice that you have places to stay!

tell the school and see if they give you your own room lol

That would be awesome, but that probably wouldn't happen.  saddood;
At the same time I don't know if i'd feel thankful or insulted?

That's what I was thinking, but I don't know. I don't have a problem with homophobic people I had a lot of friends who were homophobic, I just didn't tell them. But they would be hard to live with.

To make a long story short: The one was a rich long island tool that I stupidly gave a lot of my liquor to throughout the beginning of the year, assuming he would sometime return the favor. He never did. But he did borrow my Office Space DVD, lost it, and never gave me money for it.

The other one was a very strange puny kid that played WoW 24/7 and tried as hard as he could to hurt someone's feelings at any given time. I'm guessing it was for attention because he said he had no friends in high school. He also did it to me. He also always said stupid things for shock value like he's glad the jews burned in Auschwitz and he's glad people flew planes into the twin towers.

lol, but me describing them doesn't do their shittiness justice

Oh well they're just losers. Nothing you can do about that. Lol.
I'm nice to people even when they're jerks as long as they're jerks to everyone around me too if that makes sense. If they purposely hate me, I try to find out why and fix it, and if they still do then fuck them.

No advice, but since we're on the topic, what do you guys think about rooming with somebody you already know. I'm rooming with one of my best friends next year, and I'm not too worried since he's at my house just about every day and I can definitely hang out with him for a long time without getting sick of him. I would just like to hear what my fellow boyagers think of this matter.

I specifically made sure I didn't room with any one I knew. One of the main things I'm looking forward to in college is meeting new people, and if I get too comfortable with a roommate I already know, I feel I'll have a harder time putting myself out there to meet other people. But this is just me.

It can be both a good thing or bad thing depending on your relationship and tolerance as friends, because i know plenty of people who roomed with their best friends, and it tore them apart. But few rare ones where it just stayed the same.

Hmmm. I wonder. My best friends are mostly guys. How do you think that would work?   n_u

Yes. Cause they have girlfriends. And I wouldn't do that.

Well then I think it would work perfectly fine.
