The server seems to be stable. The 'lost database' resulted from my attempting to install some software, which unceremoniously (and without warning) reinstalled MySQL, thus wiping the database... so we got this server, which is in California and should be more reliable. Then yesterday something apparently having to do with DNS settings fucked up Apache and PHP, and a solution could not be found until now.

Barring potentially a few reboots as I get some other software setup, things should be stable. WELCOME BACK
