Most beautiful movie I have seen in so long omg
The story was surprisingly deep and had it's fair share of tense moments, although some parts seemed to drag on a little long. Overall 9/10 go see it with a girl

my dad's going to be a dick and make sure i don't see it because he doesn't want to, he's never even heard of the book and my sister thinks it looks weird too
I've been orgasming in anticipation since the first trailer came out and now my dreams will be crushed

My roommate and I both freaked when we saw the commercial so we're going to see it together no homo.

He might bring a girl but I don't have one to bring. :(

I honestly have no desire to see it. The book freaked me out when I was little.

the shortest route to the sea

I'm feeling a road trip to the huge theater a few towns over to see this, with a few unitarians. This should be awesome!

Saw the movie. It was kind of boring, honestly. It was a fairly good movie, but the plot is poorly tied together and it felt kind of slow.

It was quite well done for what it was. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece of film since there's not a lot to be said for things like writing and acting (since most of the movie concerns Max and the wild things), but I really liked other parts of it, like the sound editing and art direction. I believe I read awhile ago (when it would have been in pre-production) that the aim was to totally get inside Max's head and his emotion, which it did very well... I liked all the low-angle shots and sounds that were how a kid would have seen/heard things. There was originally a much darker ending which I think the studio made Jonze change, but I would have liked to see it, since I thought one of the bigger themes was life's general shittiness and the children's movie marketing kind of covered that up (the amount of small children in the theater was funny, though).

Overall I'd give it 5.5/7; it's definitely better than Zombieland and the other shit that's been coming out lately.

Since you brought up the darker ending stuff, it kind of reminded me of Lord of the Flies near the end.  It was tense.
