How short should I cut my hair?

I currently have long hair. Well past my shoulders. I'm thinking of getting it cut so I don't have to always tie it back at my new job. Should I get it shorter then ears? Or just suck it up and cut it so it's still long but not as shaggy. But then I'll still have to tie it back. D:

I'm sure it would be. I've had long hair since I was 13 and I'm 17 now.

When I put the back of my head against the pillow afterwards, it felt a little weird the first night or two.  If you lay your hair over your ears and have a hard pillow ("decorative couch" as we call it in our house), it will feel even more weird than that.  I would get it cut so it's less shaggy.
