I mean like seriously, that thing is amazing.
Pretty expensive though.

I know I'm not that good with computers, but probably the only good thing about that laptop is it's design.

The actual specs are pretty average and some, like the amount of storage, are kind of sub par.

It's thinner than the Air, and it's got a built in Linux thingy though.

It's .06 thinner than the Air, if the measurement they give is for the closed laptop (on the Voodoo site).

Built-in Linux thingy? Like, a Linux distro is pre-installed? It's not that hard to install an OS.

And the specs really aren't that good... 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo, 80gb hard drive, onboard graphics? Better not be picking up any high-profile games with the thing.  baddood;
nah I don't do that kind of stuff. I relly don't know the scale of goodness for processors, but it looks like respectable stats. And the Linux is custom, and it also gots the Vista, as well as a neat design.

Still, there's other laptops I'd like just as much, like a MacBook Pro (or the rumored Touch) or the HP Mini-Note.

meh, thinness isn't that important compared to performance

That actually looks pretty interesting.  Even though it seems like more of a space between the computer being off and Vista than an actual OS, it does seem useful if I only wanted to browse the web.  The bad things include the fact that you won't be able to save things to your computer from the OS's browser, and the fact that you probably will have to always configure your wireless setups when you boot.

If OS gets polished a bit more before the computer is actually released, it will be more of a challenger to similarly priced computers.

otherwise, i agree with snorkel

Don't count on an Apple tablet, there's none coming. Maybe an enlarged iPhone sub-sub-notebook PDA-esque type thing.

Well, there is the Modbook, but Apple has no part of it (besides OS X, of course).

It's simple. The 1.8Ghz processors in this Voodoo thing are 800MHz less powerful than the 2.6Ghz processors in a MacBook Pro. And that's 800MHz in multiple processor cores; it adds up.

Can't think of a better way to ruin a new computer

Yeah, if you're thinking of spending $2000 on a laptop I don't see why you wouldn't get a MacBook Pro. Don't count on an Apple tablet, there's none coming. Maybe an enlarged iPhone sub-sub-notebook PDA-esque type thing.
okay
lol i kinda agree
Yeah, probably, but I still think a MacBook Touch is coming

Jobs pretty much said it's not. People have been saying Apple will release a tablet PC since the Newton (1994 or thereabout). psyduck;

Also in their phone conference the other day for this quarter's financial results, they hinted at "amazing new products that can't be rivaled." Tablet PCs like the Modbook and others are nothing new... if I know Apple, they're not wasting their time on that.
touch screen phones weren't new either. And jobs could be lying.
ah whatever, doesn't matter.
We'll see

I know. They're fucking expensive and don't hold much and even use more battery powers/
