Then play both side by side, it's incredibly easy to see the graphical improvement on the PS1.

Are you trying to say the Saturn (which might have had a GPU inferior to the Atari 2600) looked better?

You're the most blindly biased fanboy I've ever encountered.
wait, how am i supposed to see greater graphical quality

1: They're two ENTIRELY different levels
2: They're youtube videos. Made by entirely different people. They each use different tools to record and have different compression rates. That's not how you do graphics comparison.
3: It's a fact the Saturn was much better with any and all 2D games. Play any shmup on the Saturn and its port on the PS1. More than likely, you'll have lower graphical quality and an abundance of slowdown on the PS1 version, and the Saturn version will be arcade perfect.
4: even the wikipedia article says the saturn version is superior in every way besides video cutscenes how retarded are you psyduck;

http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2007/01/best-sega-saturn-games-for-today-top.html

"I have played Rayman on the PlayStation as well, but I found that the Saturn version comes out victorious. The Saturn version has added sound effects and some additional graphical effects that, while they arenĆ¢ā,¬ā,,¢t anything major, add nice little touches to the experience."

every 2d game that was released on both the saturn and ps1 are like this--better graphics and music on the saturn, and any possible slowdown in the ps1 version is eliminated in the saturn version

read through the rest of that page and you'll see it applies to street fighter and other games too

We're talking about MEGA MAN 8 here. Nobody was talking about Street Fighter or Rayman here. The PC had the best version of Rayman. The best version of Street Fighter anything was on the DC.

Mega Man 8 had far larger, more detailed, and smoother sprites and animations on the PSX. Play side by side it's a FACT.

About the Saturn always having better music and graphics... Mega Man 8 alone disproves that statement.

Wikipedia says you're wrong, as does

every person that's ever played it says the saturn version is better. hell, just look at this snippet:
http://www.8bitjoystick.com/archives/jake_review_megaman_anniversary_collection_for_gamecube_and_ps2.php
"Megaman 8 was a 32-bit Sony Playstation and Sega Saturn game and it was lush and full of 32-bit colors. BBQ reports that they based it on the Playstation version instead of the superior Sega Saturn version for this collection."

just do more searching around yourself and you'll see every source say that

Because it has several features that were left out of the PSX version, not because it had better sound or graphics. It's pretty damn clear it doesn't.

ncba93ivyase

also, that other website even says the saturn versions of street fighter were better than the dreamcast

Also, the Dreamcast sucks.

It does have better graphics you dumb cunt. There were added graphical touches to the Saturn version like water ripples, and everything else is exactly THE SAME DAMN THING. Also, Saturn always suffers from less slowdown on 2D games than the PS1, and that's also a fact.

and now you're trying to argue that bonus features don't make a game better when just a while ago you were trying to argue the ps1 version was more complete and that's what made it better psyduck;

Either give up or quit making such blatant contradictions.

If I could present to you a proper comparison, I would. Until then, play both side by fucking side and quit being such a retarded fanboy. This is the funniest shit I've ever heard.

I just presented plenty of sources that prove the Sega Saturn version is superior, and the reason you can't present a "proper comparison" is because you know there is no way the PS1 version is superior--because it's not.

Your argument went from "oh well the ps1 version is more complete," to "oh well who needs that bonus content the saturn version has," to "oh uh YOU'RE A FANBOY."

I've linked to many sites that state, for a fact, the Saturn version of Megaman 8 is far superior (aside from the lower video quality), and 2D quality is overall much greater on the Saturn. I'm not demanding you like the Saturn, it's just that you should just accept the fact the Saturn performed much better when it comes to 2D than any other console.

but you keep pulling these "bigger, better sprites on the ps1" excuses out of your ass when the whole internet has evidence proving the opposite.

Then why can't you find a source that says "THE SATURN LOOKS MUCH BETTER AND HAS BIGGER SPRITES".

It probably doesn't have anything to do with the fact that it doesn't. I'm guessing you haven't had the pleasure of playing MM8 on the PSX.

... i just gave you sources saying the saturn has better graphics. the sprites ARE THE SAME IN BOTH VERSIONS YOU NITWIT, and the saturn only has small graphical enhancements plus those bonus levels and greater music quality. all that leaves the playstation version with is missing content and barely better video quality psyduck;

You haven't cited a damn source saying the PS1 version is superior at all, and if you would, it'd be some 12 year old Playstation fan's post on PSU.

I think they're pretty comparable. The Saturn version just has smaller and less detailed sprites because of how underdeveloped its GPU was.

Gimme a day and I'll have screenshots of both versions from emulators. You'll complain about Saturn not being emulated properly, but it'll be fine for a screenshot. It's not like it's going to shrink the fucking sprites.

Some gay dude reports that straight sex is pretty alright.  Damn that's convincing.

Sprites are no different.

And the second CPU overcomes a weak GPU and thus lets it perform excellently on 2D games, but 3D games take a major hit which is why any multiplatform 3D game looks awful on the Saturn.

Although Thunder Force V actually looks better on the Saturn, and is probably the only 3D game that doesn't look better on the PS1.

Gimme a day and I'll prove my point. I'm not just blowing shit out of my ass. I've played both quite a bit as a kid and to this day. Luckily I still have an MM8 Saturn image on a disc, I just have to find a PSX version now.

unless you're actually playing it on a saturn, the saturn version is going to look like shit

The sprites aren't going to shrink. It'll do the job to prove my point, even though it plays almost flawlessly.
