My bike got stolen.  I have come up with a simple equation to determine the likelihood of your bike getting stolen

d is the distance from the ghetto, while n is the number of cops patrolling the area.   As the distance(in blocks from the ghetto) decreases the likelyhood of your bike getting stolen approaches one.  If you live in the ghetto(d=0), you'd know that people from the ghetto don't steal one another's bikes.

I'll deal with that later, but for now, I'm afraid my bike may break somehow. Are my gears ok?

Get a smaller sprocket.

Are you sure that's the problem? It just now started happening.

No, not at all. My friend bikes seriously, so I hear all the biking mumbo jumbo all the time. I just know what the sprocket is.

No, he doesn't have internet, let alone a computer.

If anything, the derailer is just slipping as you go uphill, check the cables and make sure they are tight.

Before I can be absolutely certain about my check, is the derailer the part nearby the pedal or the back wheel? Because I noted some damage to one of the cables that lead to the back wheel (it isn't the brakes). It is tight, but it isn't straight.

That would probably be your problem.

They are both Derailers as far as I know (unless the one on the back weel has a different name).

Well I'll examine the derailer with the damaged cable to see if it is just looser than I last checked. If it is damaged, then I'll have to replace it (if I can).
