So, my volume control was somehow deleted. I dunno how, and I don't know by who. Now I can't change my volume and mic settings, and it's a real pain to play in WoW, because people can't hear me, and I can't raise my mic out going volume.

I try to set the volume control button to the taskbar, and it says it's not installed. It tells me to run Add/Remove programs in the control panel, but I don't see it.  gonk; HALP

Find it on a torrent maybe? Some random download site is bound to have it. How the fuck do you delete somthing like that though.

I had a problem like this, the sound would just give out and I couldn't do anything but restart my computer to fix it. I reinstalled my sound card and now it works. Try that, if not, reformat.

I doubt reinstalling your sound card will work but why not.
