Quote from: 6M69I69B9 on September 23, 2019, 12:42:34 PMok so i bought an i5 9400f damnnn lmao
installed it

had issues with powering up my pc as a whole
until i learned- after plugging in back and forth the main power connector and the f panel cables again and again, that i can just take out the cable for the power switch and literally stick a screwdriver in it for a second so it can boot up

the thing is, lmao what is my next step to make things back to normal??? i dont want to use my screwdriver to turn it on every time

also, the gtx 1060 is so much better on temperature and sound wise holy shit, that rx 580 was steaming hot shit
brother what the holy heck are you doing g LOL

i just wanted to show u guys what was up
bc it actually works
only have to do it for a second

i actually spent HOURS trying to figure out wtf was going on bc i KNEW that i put it all together correctly and seeing that it wouldnt turn on after putting in the new cpu, just bewildered me to hell
>wasn't any of the cables from the power supply
>9th gen cpu actually works on my mobo so dont know why it wouldnt start up
>in the end, turns out it was the fuckin TOWER that was screwing it up
after learning all it took was putting your screwdriver/anything metal to the prongs of where the power sw cable should be hooked on, i've been good this whole time

im prob gonna get to the power button when i have more time and have it worked on or smth, but for now ive just been putting it to sleep so i dont have to do it so much.  actually i havent turned it off since lmao

but yea anyway damn my gtx 1060 has been so cool using, cannot believe ive let myself be on low graphics for so long lmao

that is my old harddrive lol

i'm sure i'll upgrade it at some point but honestly i never have more than 200gb filled up so it doesn't seem super necessary.

tommy_no_ice

200 gb is like 2 games in 2019 brother

Quote from: Snowy on December 15, 2019, 10:56:13 AMis a 450W PSU going to be enough?
i think so? pcpartpicker says its okay

built everything up yesterday and everything worked out of the box on my old ssd which was very nice. realizing that i don't have any games that really show off what my computer is capable of lol

bought an asus KO 3060ti
this thing is nuts for streaming, never could stream a game at 1080 without some stuttering
processing videos might even be better (i like archiving my gameplay, idk)
$487 with taxes, s&h

felt like i shouldnt have financially, but I know that it's basically an investment since crypto can go up at any time, and plus, this is the cheapest I could find this GPU, which used to be about $1,200-$1,400

idk what im gonna do with my old 1060, might honestly keep it and hope to sell it at a higher price

did some upgrades  bassir;
old motherboard had a fucked up fan that made crazy ass noises. had a script that ran on startup to adjust the thresholds but it was super annoying whenever i turned my computer on. also wanted to try a small form factor pc case, really like how the NR200 looks on my desk

also finally using an m.2 ssd which feels nice (also finally have 1tb instead of half that lol)
other than that still using my old 5700xt and Ryzen 5 3600, no complaints from performance there
