Quote from: C.Mongler on August 20, 2019, 09:19:30 AMive been playing a shitload of outer wilds lately, and holy fuck is this one of the best games ive ever played
never heard of it what's that?
It's a space exploration adventure game that uses a time-loop mechanic. Basically you start a run and then 22 minutes later the sun explodes and you and everyone dies BUT thanks to some ancient alien technology you go back 22 minutes in time, still alive, but with all the knowledge you gained in your previous lifetime. the game revolves around exploring a bunch of different planets and learning more about this unseen alien race, their technology, and why you keep dying and coming back over and over. there's a lot more to it than that, but I can't really explain anything else without getting into spoilerino category. it's a great game if you like just wandering around, solving puzzles, and looking at shit, but it also has a really cool and deep lore and some interesting and unqiue game mechanics too. also the music is FUCKING AMAZING.

im tempted to make a video review/soemthing about it when I finish it here soon. i don't think nearly enough people have played or are even aware of this game, when it feels like one of the more special games i've played in a while.

also the dev studio that made it was founded by the asian guy from the show Heroes lol
that sounds like a lot to take in but neat lol

been playing a lot of tetris 99 again and bought Puyo Puyo Champtions bcuz i wanted to do some 1v1 ranked puzzling. i'm bad at this game so far lol

that was the biggest piece of shit I ever played on the WiiU. 100% certain that all the hype was artificially created to convince bozos to buy a third party wiiu game

Nyerp

platinum definitely makes a lot of great games but their track record can be pretty spotty

wonderful 101 just isn't up there with bayonetta or nier: automata or metal gear rising

the weirdest thing about it is that it has a huge cult following of people who think the game was unfairly overlooked and it deserves more exposure on the switch and i'm like...what fucking game did you play

been smashing ass w/ luigi
although they nerfed his cyclone to the ground, that fkin plunger is the SHIT to gimp someone's recovery, literally time it good off stage.  it has decent vertical coverage because it lingers for so long lmao, so sometimes you get people trying to adapt to it to the point they have to recover up high. and when you condition ppl to do that, lmao you can just jump and catch them with cyclones as a mix up.  catching people with upbs too, especially roll getups

i actually am enjoying luigi more since incorporating his plunger into my neutral.

example
from this point and on i just gimp him with it
https://youtu.be/BIQxhSE6OiY?t=64

though i am not even close to saying that it compensates for the shit ass cyclone we got

i love this theme's music and sound effects, doing a long combo for it just makes it more satisfying

ummm invictus tet 99 is actually hell
highest so far ive gotten is 23, avg is like...50...
ppl right out the gate are just insane, stark difference

but tbh in orig tetris 99 mode, you could literally get into the 40s without doing anything, so this mode has much more heft

maybe ill get better results when im more adjusted bc when i played i just woke up and wanted to see if the patch went through.  but that will have to wait for now

actually stoked to grind for at the very least, one win lol
