Title: I think my computer has a virus.
Post by: Ricky on April 25, 2007, 04:31:44 PM
omg gonk;

I left my laptop for a few days and someone let my sisters play it. argh;

Now whenever I log on it's done loading almost instantly. I'm starting to think my sister mistyped "disneychanel.com" instead of "disneychannel.com" again. sweat;

HALP, MY MCAFEE PROTECTION IS OUTDATED

I hate all these virus problems. It's most logical to just get software like AVG or Windows Defender. Don't come to us crying like we actually care. And about this "think," you either know or you don't; go download AVG or something and find out. Also, disneychanel.com redirects to the real Disneychannel.com.

Nope, Disney has that domain.

Just go to Goggle.com to finish the job. caterpie;

I have AVG, it shows up nothing.

I hate it, anyway. McAfee isn't showing anything, either ...

It's just odd that it usually takes 15+ minutes to startup and now it takes less then 2 ...

On the same computer? wtc; If not, it's pretty normal because of the fact that it's Windows. If nothing shows that you have a virus then what makes you "think" that you have a virus.

I wouldn't be surprised if it took 40 minutes, the startups are slow as hell.

For some reason, my PC didn't get that memo. It usually takes three-to-five minutes tops and certain times only two. Maybe it's learning from all those Linux distros I installed on my PC within the last six months.

I think I can get to the screen where you select your user in about 45 seconds.

And... is that a bad thing? Maybe your sister is some sort of computer genius.

My bad computer takes a full 5 minutes.
My good one takes 2.
Both are Windows XP...
