And are you satisfied with your current ISP? befuddlement

i have optimum(/altice/suddenlink), and for the most part they're okay for the cost, if a little unstable at times

I had brighthouse and was kinda-converted to spectrum and I thought I kept my old plan, which was $70/month for I think 300mbps

but I checked just now and it looks like they recently downgraded me to 100mbps (which admittedly is still a fine speed) for the same price akudood;

ever since the acquisition, I've been getting very frequent ads in the mail from spectrum asking me to "upgrade" to one of their featured bundle plans for $90/month with internet speeds around 30 or 50mpbs.

AT&T has gigabit fiber service in my city that they offer for $70/month (the same price I'm playing for an order of magnitude slower cable), but it's not in my neighborhood. It is in the neighborhood directly adjacent to mine. And it looks like they suddenly halted the rollout here like four years ago.

I have RCN and honestly they kind of rule, at least in the relative spectrum of how shit most ISPs are.

I had Cox at my last place and they were mega sticklers about DMCA lol. My roommate wouldnt stop obviously pirating Game of Thrones and so they shut off our internet and because the bill was in my name, I had to receive a literal 15 minute over-the-phone lecture about DMCA, copyright-infringement, and how piracy destroys the life and well being of the creators of these shows, movies, etc. before they would turn my internets back on. I'm pretty sure they guy could tangibly feel how annoyed I was over the phone, especially since I had made it clear it was my roommate doing the downloading (he was the one who called them originally, but had to hand over the phone to me when they started asking account verification questions). I never said an affirmative 'yes' to any of his questions ("Do you PROMISE to never pirate again??"), just "sure" for everything lol. I sure showed them!!!  smth;

yea torrents are easy to track because your IP just chills in a big list of seeders, so some nerds sit there all day and snitch on IP addresses to their ISPs, especially on popular public torrents like piratebay and shit

When I had Cox I torrented a shit ton and they never cared. I like Cox the best of the isps I've had. CenturyLink is shit. I have Suddenlink now which has some issues here and there but I get cable and internet included with my rent so I'm not complaining

If you're not constantly seeding new releases, they don't, but he'd literally grab that nights episode and leave it seeding indefinitely lol.
Cox was fine by I would get outages like every month in my building, and rarely got the speed I was paying for. I also apparently had a 2 TB cap that I never realized, though thankfully never hit. Was still way better than Comcast which was horseshit from every imaginable angle.

Literally cancel it every year and resuscribe to save $200 a year.

It's $50 month for new users and $65 for existing... lol
