Foreword
It's a snowy night in February 2018. I don't think about it often, but my mind occasionally returns to a story I started and never completed: The Evil Portal. First created in the mid-late 2000s (2006? 2007?), it captured the hearts of many internet readers. It was considered a classic, but a decade plus later, it's essentially erased from record. I lost all copies of any of the comics, and there's no trace of them online either. The Evil Portal is a lost story. A myth. A legend.
I still have a story to tell, and I left too many fans in the dark. Nobody got to find out what really happened to Mario, the man, and Samus, the mysterious being from another dimension. Today, I can finally tell that story the way I always wanted to.
This is a complete reboot. I can't tell the story exactly where I left off because I don't remember when that was, so I'm starting over. I'm also changing from the outdated, flawed sprite comic format to the timeless and modern MS Paint style.
I hope you enjoy the new direction, and I hope the new story is even more fulfilling than the previous attempt.
