Nahhh. Reddit is partially responsible for the echo chamber society we have today which discourages actual discussion and debate.
League is just toxic like any other esport game but it has little effect on anything important
Yeah but I tend to stick to more niche subreddits
I don't follow any of the default subreddits, and I really don't care for the reddit community in general, but I check reddit occasionally for stuff I care about like android and nintendo games
once in a while when I see somebody is wrong I actually bother replying to a comment
so this led to a silly story: after I saw a lot of people on the nintendoswitch subreddit spreading misinformation about USB-C since before the system even launched, I corrected some of them with proof, one thing led to another, and now some of the people there see me as some sort of USB expert and asked me a lot of questions about accessory compatibility myface;

I get the impression that Facebook has been very slowly fading for the past few years, although sadly not in any way as abrupt as myspace. Facebook used to be the one and only social media platform for a huge number of people, but I think more recently (thanks to smartphones probably) a lot of people use a lot of different more specialized services like snapchat, instagram, twitter, whatsapp, etc. and use facebook a lot less than they used to if at all.
If any one single thing ever kills Facebook, I can't imagine the killer being anything but Facebook itself.
Old people killed Facebook akudood;
facebook is in the midst of a very ginormous pivot

Old people killed Facebook akudood;
it's well established that angst over seeing your high school acquaintances move well forward in life while you remain completely stagnant is what killed facebook
the old folks and parents and distant relatives with
expectations certainly don't help
i ignore facebook for the same reason i ignore bills or avoid looking at my bank account
