tec 1.66 will feature a built-in compatibility mode for version 1.0, which will enable incomplete but practical compatibility with that specific legacy version of tec

ultimately however we hope to eventually entirely phase 1.0 out, backwards compatibility be damned

we will unofficially support 1.0 for the time being, but pending some fine tuning and refinement of 1.66 and beyond, we will all be forced onto a more modern tec version in time

Critical error discovered:

Tectron 1.66.0 has an incredibly dangerous, walletless, behaviorally drunken driver. It came within one inch of crashing no fewer than 3 times while on the information superhighway today. My alpha testers issued a test fix that was untested and very nearly corrupted the software. Thankfully, the alpha is being rewritten.

Tectron 1.66.0 itself is to be destroyed physically and digitally effective immediately. We are issuing the 1.66.1 beta right now.

This update is mandatory. Any attempts at deferring or delaying or remaining on 1.66.0 will result in detonation of your machine.

• spontaneously ate a random blue pill off the floor

and no, neither of those is a joke

but i would make a common sense wager that they're both generally preferable to 1.66.0's walletless pseudo-drunken driving
