My current namesake is interwar-era Sicilian theoretical physicist Ettore Majorana (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ettore_Majorana).

and of course the obligatory cheap video game pun

You probably should care because he was such a cool fellow with an interesting history. And an absolute genius.

And yet totally overlooked - Chadwick's Nobel Prize could have and SHOULD have been Majorana's (but dear Ettore was also kind of a lazy schmuck and missed out, oh well).

"gi" is used for that sound

Italian is so easy to pronounce on sight. Every letter is important. Makes me resent French that much more.
