(sorry if some of this doesnt seem to mesh, i have not been getting enough sleep lately fuk)
Various friends and family members are worrying about their citizenship because they either stayed in the US for a shitload of years and never got their citizenship straightened, or are just paranoid overall about being deported. Even if the recent stuff has mainly applied to the Middle East (well except for saudi arabia, egypt, etc.). So many people are just worried overall.
My brother-in-law and his coworkers [at a hotel in downtown, mostly all minorities] get harassed by Trump supporters and their supervisors are now making meetings saying, "just deal w/ it." And most of the employees aren't having it.
i told my parents last night i was grateful that they never fucked up anything regarding citizenship for them and us kids lmao. like man i took my us citizenship status for granted, while there are people around us that are in panic. fuck, i need to appreciate my family more.
misc. but, it's really a chore seeing /pol/ in the news now. though it has been funny on some occasions. i've tried to talk w/ several liberals about why the """alt-right""" (since i used to be deep in the scene before LMAO) even consider what they're doing but they never are interested.
i honestly do think there is going to be a civil war in the future if stuff never gets resolved.
dumb rant but
i was gonna type a shitload of things about race shit. but i realize hate's been clouding my mind a lot so fuck it. it's like i know that believing in decency over race is prob one of the most basic and sound beliefs. but fuck lately ive been deviating in and out of that belief whenever i see shit on the news, extreme left ("sjw") posts, whitey elitists in /pol/, etc.. it's been really hard for me to look at the bigger picture when all that gets to me is petty shit that eventually makes me petty lol. i just need to stop focusing on small details that poison my mind.
We need to stop focusing on the idea of the other and how we can improve each others lives without diminishing the freedom of another.
My father was an immigration lawyer; it's kind of amazing to me that people with the opportunity to obtain citizenship would lolly gag about it. The immigrants I always met would talk about it constantly and work their asses off for it. Even before trump you never know when US policy will change, why take that chance?

My mind is fried but when you posted "why take that chance" did you mean why not get citizenship instead of stalling for some reason? Or just questioning why they'd bother with citizenship considering how much someone has to go through?
Sorry I just felt like the post was a bit vague.
Anyway, man, I really cannot believe shit is going down like how it is. I'm sick of politics but it seems to be leaking into my other hobbies (there's a smasher in the Netherlands that reg. attends US majors that confirmed he can't visit the US min. 90 days with his embassy b/c he has Iranian blood, regardless of dual citizenship with Dutch and Iran. Funny thing is that him and fans worry about him not attending EVO when this issue is the least of their problems).

well I said why would they lolly gag which means dawdle. Just doesn't make any sense. Yeah it's a super tough process which is why it makes even more sense to try to do it as quickly as possible. Heck, my buddy married a Canadian 3 years ago and only just now did they grant her citizenship; they almost deported her at one point. The immigration system is nuts

The fact that you're seeing problems with both the "sjw"-extreme-left and the alt-right shows that you're probably looking at the whole situation from a healthy perspective. That's good, man.
My neighbor is from Columbia. He worked his ass off to get his papers. He was afraid to go back and visit family for fear of not being allowed back in the US. And this was about 7 years ago.

im reading it different than how i was when i was sleep deprived
but yeah i know a family that's lived in the US +10 yrs and they never thought to consider citizenship, only one that prob won't be fucked [if immigration laws and deportation reqs become more strict than it is] is the one that actually married a us citizen, and it's crazy he's still here despite having a bit of a criminal record.

dang
Implying sjws are the extreme left when they generally don't give a shit about class issues unless they can tie them to other parts of identity politics
trump is doing a great job so far. his moves on the security council are a little unsettling but i think they will walk them back with time.
albania isn't on the list so i don't really care. i didn't know all of these companies are not hiring americans but people from iran and somalia and yemen.
