i have been looking at apartments in philly. there are some really cool places with rooftop terraces and little enclosed yards with great skyline views.
generally i like the northeast, i have city life, philly, NY, atlantic city, DC, i got gambling and the shore, i can go out to the country still (western PA/upstate NY, virginia and the carolinas). it's really an i deal location.

im helping this guy write a book about samsung for penguin publishing. so that's sort of exciting, i might like to write books some day so i just want some credibility if i go that direction, he said he'd give me credit in the book and help network me to people. also money. also i just like being published. im also doing startup work doing interfaces, and vr work in the valley, there's lots of hype for vr right now. startup's doing really good but ive been less involved, which i somewhat regret.
aside from that im looking for something more permanent now that im done with school. and then i have a lot of residual projects from school that i need to either cut off cause it didn't work out or find some way to finish them up. we almost created an academic department at a major university but uh some people im pretty sure stole some money and others got sick and right at the finish line, it didn't work out. last i heard it's still ongoing but im just trying to not waste any more time and embarassment on it. it's too bad, i learned a lot of different things working on that through the years. so that's me generally.

the brown tree snakes are an invasive species to the island and caused a few bird species to go extinct. had one just hanging out on my door when i went to let my dog back in- scared the shit out of me. they aren't that big, they grow to about the size of your average pet python.
he's a submariner but works on a sub tender right now fixing subs. he's going on shore duty next then retiring. my dad was a sub guy for the longest time until the last few years of his career he went on surface ships before retiring.
that's pretty cool, being on a sub tender doesn't seem fun tho. your husband/father ever share any interesting stories you can tell us? i find the silent service often has the wildest tall tales.
just regular drunken sailor stuff, the things that seemed really crazy was when my husband went to see a "ping pong show" in thailand. some lady shooting ping pongs and darts from her vag, apparently it's a "sailor initiation" thing to go to these ping pong shows at least once while they're in port somewhere. he mostly just drank at bars or go shopping because that's all his liberty buddies wanted to do, which was lame. but i did get some p cute and cheap lingerie from the philippines, which was nice

yeah, our ship goes to Phuket all the time (one of the ports there), some shady and crazy shit goes on over there all the time. bought some clothes from a shop that was apparently owned by the russian mafia. though he was able to go on a tour on a river and saw some monkeys, which was cool.
