i think in like 2001? i honestly can't remember when my family FINALLY got fucking DSL (my neighbro had it like a whole year ahead of us and it sucked cuz he was always playin AOE2 online and i couldnt cuz my mom would always pick up the damn phone).

reently i played the dial up tone and my 12 year old brother didn't even know what it was. my 17 year old sister recognzied it but couldn't identify its purpose

just before I moved to MN, thats what we had.

It was only last year that my parents actually got decent internet

Never.

My family didn't have a computer until late 2005 and the first internet service we got was DSL. Like half a year later, they installed FiOS in my neighborhood, so I hardly even got a taste of what DSL is like. Since then, the only networks I've used are either fiber, cable, or cellular.

I was always enough of a shut-in that I never went out and visited anybody else who had a computer and used their dial-up.

I've certainly heard the dial-up noise before, or noises like it, but never from a computer I was using. It has most often been in offices, especially around fax machines.

My satellite internet speeds out here in the country are similar to dial-up.

fond memories waking up, starting up dialup, making food, starting runescape, getting dressed, and then playing runescape until school started
